Lights, Camera, Action!

I absolutely love going to the movies. There is something about a dark theater, a big screen and no distractions.

I have an UGC card. The membership costs 18 € per month but I can see an unlimited number of movies at almost any theater in Paris. What a great deal!

When I first started this blog, I told my friends here in Paris that I would list which movies (if any) I saw that week. When I met my friends during the week (before I started my blog), they would ask which movies I had seen that week. I couldn't ever remember. So, I told them that once I started a blog that I would list the movies on my blog.

Well... almost 2 months into my blogging and I'm finally getting around to it. So, here is a partial list of the movies that I seen in the past few months.

Lunch (sushi) with Leesa at Taissei (near Montparnasse). Then, Starbucks for a cup of strong coffee because I'm exhausted (see previous post).

Kiwi + Anapen = sleepless night

So, my son has a life-threatening allergy (anaphylactic reaction) to nuts so he has to carry Ana-pens (injections of epinephrine) and Benedryl with him at all times.

When an Ana-pen expires or is no longer good, we practice with it before throwing it away. "Someone" put it in his checked luggage before flying back to France after his Christmas vacation and the liquid froze which ruined the ana-pen. So, last night, instead of using "Bob's" outer thigh (which is where the injection should be given if he was having a reaction), we used fruit for our victim. This time, it was the kiwi's turn.

Several steps are required to prep the ana-pen prior to injection. Since boys will be boys, my husband and son don't always feel the need to read and review the directions (which are in French).

Anyways, as "Bob" took aim at his victim, I freaked out and screamed. Which in turn made Bob freak out and jump. I thought that "Bob" had the Ana-pen upside-down in his hand and that he was going to inject himself in his thumb - which is so dangerous.

Needless to say, I wasn't wearing my glasses so I really couldn't see anything anyways. But I gave myself such a huge burst of adrenaline that my heart was going crazy. It wasn't until 5:30 am that I was finally able to fall asleep!

"Bob" went on to successfully inject and save the kiwi.

I sometimes tend to over-react...

Bois de Boulogne

I love this park!! We went with Hélène for a 2 hour walk through the park. It is huge - 2384 acres.

This is the larger of the lakes and it has an island in the center. This is the coldest winter in 4 years and there is ice on the lakes. I was talking to a woman at a boutique who told me that in 1975 it was so cold that they were able to skate on the Seine River.

Soldes!!

The big sales (soldes) started this week in France. Everywhere, "soldes" (in many different colors and sizes) can be seen in all the shop windows.

I found these wonderful boots and they were 40% off!!! I wore them all day and they were très comfortable.

Relief !!!

I went to the chiropractor yesterday and I feel so much better! Before I went, I had neck pain and lower back pain. Apparently, carrying groceries for a half a mile almost every day can really whack your back out!

I've already made my appointment for next week.

Bob's Back!

Can you tell how excited Bob is to be back with his parents?!?! He just loves my new interest in picture taking!
