Bob's school trip

Bob just got back from a 2 day school trip at Château de Grande Romaine in Lésigny, France. Below is the main building where some of the activities took place. They did a lot of team building and initiative exercises, as well as archery, rock climbing, trapeze flying, soccer, etc. This year, they also discussed the college application processes in several of the countries around the world.
I never went on a class trip like this! It's "tough" being a senior in Paris!

Wine & Cheese Festival

Today we went to Antony for their annual wine and cheese festival. Antony is a couple miles south-east of Paris and it's where Leesa and Alex live.

A beautiful September day

Saturday, September 13th When the weather is beautiful, almost all of the Vélib bikes are used. Vélib is the new self-service transit system. The initiative was pushed by the Paris mayor Bertrand Delanoë and this bicycle service started in 2007. There are now more than 20,000 bicycles in use which makes it the largest bicycle system in the world. The Vélib stations usually are no more than 900 feet apart which makes it very convenient to pick up or drop off the bikes..

And at 4:06pm...

It was 22°C (72°F°)

Another blue-tiful day

It's another blue, beautiful day in Paris. I had to go to the super market and there's no easy way (no direct bus or metro) to get there. So, I walk. It's a about 3/4 mile each way. At least, I get my exercise! Here's my "lovely" cart. I made the mistake of letting Tom and Bob pick it out. They didn't pick out the prettiest cart but the "coolest" one (according to them). It can go 4 wheeling and climb curbs without any effort. Of course, Tom and Bob were trying to make my shopping adventures easier for me. I will be picking out my next cart!!

3 wheels on each side - what more could a girl want?! Lucky me!!

On my way to the hyper-marche....

Bob saw this movie back in the US and it's finally coming out in France.

And...I finally made it. It really is a wonderful walk in any season.

And...Carrefour is having a wine fair...it doesn't get any better than this!!

Another wonderful day....

Bob has been asking for tacos for a long time and I was finally able to find the "real" taco shells at Carrefour's. But, in order to add spice and heat to the tacos, I had to head over to Le Marais (about 40 minutes on 2 different metros) for some of the ingredients. Le Marais is one of the trendiest and hippest areas in Paris. Paris' old Jerwish neighborhood is here as well as romantic little courtyards, quaint boutiques and warm and inviting cafes and restaurants. The store that I enjoy going to is called "Thanksgiving" on 20, rue Saint Paul in the 4th arrondisement. It's like walking into a mini American market.

The following pictures are taken around my neighborhood. I had to go the Monoprix for avocados, meat, onions etc for our Mexican feast.

It was warm today but not this warm. It was in the mid-80s, but this temperature gauge on the pharmacie was in the sun and registering around 104°F.

Saturday in Saint-Cloud

Our friends invited us up to Saint-Cloud for a barbecue and a walk in the Parc de Saint-Cloud.

Saint-Cloud is about 10 kilometers west of Paris. The park is huge - 460 hectares (about 1140 acres). Great views of Paris from the park.

Don't want to get dehydrated on our walk!!

A Snack with Friends

We met at L'Oisive Thé at 5:00pm for a snack.

Me, Alex (Leesa's French husband - oo la la) and Anne from Oxfordshire England). Leesa took the pictures.

We realized that we don't know when Anne's returning to England...is it Tuesday or Wednesday??

On the way back to the Metro..

Artwork on a building...I'm not sure how they do it.

To all my French speaking friends, what does the below artwork mean? "Which one not given ____ I took." Help!!
