Paris is closed!

As I mentioned in a previous post, August is so quiet here because literally everyone is on vacation. Here are some of the signs from different shops in our neighborhood.

A clothing store is closed from July 29th until August 26th.

A brasserie is closed the entire month of August. A brassiere has a large selection of dishes on the menu and are generally open early and close late.

An eyeglass store will reopen on Tuesday, August 25th.

Even our favorite boulangerie is closed from August 3rd until the 23rd. They make the best bagettes, croissants, and other delicious desserts.

And finally, a very popular restaurant is closed until August 24th.

The larger food stores are open in our area but it really feels like a ghost town. As you get closer is the touristy sights more places stay open in August.
Not bad taking a 4 week vacation...
