Bois de Boulogne

I love this park!! We went with Hélène for a 2 hour walk through the park. It is huge - 2384 acres.

This is the larger of the lakes and it has an island in the center. This is the coldest winter in 4 years and there is ice on the lakes. I was talking to a woman at a boutique who told me that in 1975 it was so cold that they were able to skate on the Seine River.

Hey Dawn!

WOW!! The lake looks REALLY frozen!! How did those people know they could walk across without the ice breaking? We went to the Parc de Sceaux yesterday and the canal was frozen too, but there were warning signs saying that you couldn't go on the icey canals... I LOVE the ice angel and the dog is adorable... Great to see your pics!!!

Haha.... We all need a little pressure sometimes... It's all good.. And you are doing a great job... you never need to feel like you "Have to" do something... just do it when you feel like it... It's supposed to be FUN!!!
Take care and you're doing just great so far!!

Hi Dawn I was going to say the same thing as Leesa, about walking on the frozen lakes, a big no no ...we always have warning signs too.

Oh by the way I came via Leesa :-)

Leesa is right, just do it when you feel like it..:-)

Hey Dawn, I didn't know you could walk on the lake. Looks risky to me!

Good luck with the new blog!

Hi Dawn,

Welcome to our world !!
I'm so happy to see you here, and I'm going to stop by often to follow your blog.
You were a lot more courageous than I was to brave the temps all the way to the Bois de Boulogne.
I have spent the past week in my neighborhood, just with the shopping & such.

Nice pics ! I enjoyed looking at them.

Hugs x

Congratulations and all the best for a happy blogging. Your blog in fact is a very good one! Philip, Leesa's friend!!!

After we were in the park for about 1 hour, the police did come and blow their whistles to get everyone off the ice. I only saw 1 sign that said not to go on the ice (and it was in a strange place). When I go for my next walk in the park, I'm going to look to see if there are more signs.

I want to thank everyone again for your support as I stumble my way into blogging!

Just stopped by via the wonderful Miss Leesa!

WELCOME TO THE BLOGWORLD!!!

You're gonna LOVE it!

Great photos and I'm very jealous, because we here in Philly have gotten NO SNOW this year so far. Oh, well...a little bit, but nothing like what you guys are having!

I see you're from Jersey! You use to be my neighbor!

The Best of Fun in your new blog adventure!

That is a perfect ice angel! Mine usually look like ice mutants:) I can only seem to build lopsided unphotographable snowmen too!
